Through a series of groundbreaking design innovations, eGo wireless radio frequency identification (RFID) technology overcame many of the adoption barriers for high volume applications in road tolling and intelligent transportation systems (ITS) applications by dramatically reducing the cost per tag. eGo tags are now used in toll, ITS, airport, parking, and security access control applications. Additionally, eGo technology, is becoming the technology of choice for emerging Homeland Security and electronic vehicle registration (EVR) and electronic vehicle compliance (EVC) applications
eGo tags are paper-thin, sticker-like tags that allows user-defined information to be programmed into the tags and subsequently read from or communicated to the tag. They require no batteries and establish a new benchmark for low priced, high performance RFID tags. eGo technology is in stark contrast to larger, higher-priced hard case tags.
eGo windshield sticker tags are read by TransCore’s Encompass family of multi-protocol readers, described below.
