In 1988, TransCore (then Amtech) began shipping its first hard case transportation tags to the marketplace. Since then, TransCore has shipped more than 19 million hard case tags for transportation applications ranging from automatic road tolling, intelligent transportation systems (ITS) for automatic vehicle identification (AVI) and positive train positioning for railroads, and for parking and security access control applications.
In May 2000 Amtech introduced Intellitag®, the first inexpensive, flexible windshield sticker tag for use in high-speed, high performance transportation applications. Intellitag was rebranded to become eGo® windshield sticker tags when Amtech was acquired by TransCore in mid-2000, Because eGo windshield sticker tags could displace hard case AVI tags costing 2 or 3 times more that eGo tags without sacrificing performance, TransCore has now delivered millions of windshield sticker tags.
Today, TransCore offers both tag-packaging options – hard case and flexible “sticker” tags.
