Encompass 6
Encompass 6 readers are the only readers that are interoperable with all transportation-related protocols commonly used in North America:
- American Trucking Associations (ATA) and American Association of Railroads (AAR)

- Commercial Vehicle Inspection Systems and Networks (CVISN)
- Allegro (a variant of the California Title 21 protocol used by toll authorities in the Southeastern United States)

Encompass 5
Encompass 5 readers are suitable for use in non-toll applications with less demanding performance requirements such as airport parking, airport ground transportation management systems, rail, and ITS applications. The Encompass 5, unlike the Encompass 6, is a read only reader and is performance tested for lower speed applications.
However, the Encompass 5 shares many of the same features as the Encompass 6 including:
- Integrated enclosure containing reader and RF module
- Ethernet (IP) or serial communications
- Monostatic antennas
- Multi-tag reading
- Group select
- Standard time-division multiplexing (TDM) using standard TDM cabling or optional global positioning system (GPS) timing
- Optional multiple antenna multiplexing
