U.S. Congressman Timothy Holden (Pa.) met with TransCore employees to discuss the next Surface Transportation Authorization Act of 2009.

Recently, U.S. Congressman Timothy Holden, representing the 17th congressional district in Pennsylvania and where TransCore’s corporate office resides, met with TransCore executives and employees. As Congress prepares for the next Surface Transportation Authorization Act of 2009, Representative Holden, who was appointed to the Committee on Transportation and Infrastructure, will be working with the Subcommittee on Highways and Transit to ensure an effective and robust Highway Bill becomes law. The Subcommittee on Highways and Transit has responsibility for national surface transportation policy; construction and improvement of highway and transit facilities; implementation of safety and research programs; and regulation of commercial vehicle operations.

Congressman Holden spoke openly about the current political situation surrounding the Highway Bill and answered employees’ questions. During the meeting, Bob Ball, vice president and northeast regional manager, presented the congressman with an award in appreciation for his service to the state of Pennsylvania.

TransCore works with more than eight (8) state organizations, including the Pennsylvania State Police, Pennsylvania Department of Conservation and Natural Resources, Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission, Pennsylvania Game Commission, Pennsylvania Bureau of Corrections, Pennsylvania Attorney General’s Office, Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission, and various Pennsylvania county and local government and first responder organizations.
