TransCore Introduces Operations Management Tool for Transportation Carriers

LAS VEGAS, Truckload Carriers Association Annual Convention, March 4, 2002 – TransCore, a leading provider of technology-based business tools that drive inefficiencies out of ground transportation, introduces TransCore's Keypoint for Carriers, an operations-management software and hardware solution for small and medium-sized carriers. Keypoint for Carriers is designed to more efficiently manage daily business functions including load matching, dispatch, driver and equipment tracking, accounts receivable, and accounts payable, and provides access to TransCore's DAT Services load and truck network.

While North America's carriers recognize the efficiency benefits of the various operations-management packages available today, TransCore's customer research indicates that such systems have been traditionally too expensive or impractical for an industry composed primarily of small- and medium-sized companies. TransCore developed Keypoint for Carriers to answer these companies' needs. The operations-management tool is the first software and hardware prepackaged network solution available on a subscription basis. Keypoint for Carriers includes the following features:

  • Operations Management: Keypoint for Carriers captures all relevant order information; automates dispatching; maintains historical data regarding shippers, orders and individual trips; automates load matching; and tracks shipment activity from origin to destination
  • Accounting/Financial Management: Keypoint for Carriers manages accounts receivable and accounts payable functions such as generating invoices, running account inquiries, creating driver settlements and printing checks.
  • Sales Analysis: Keypoint for Carriers produces profitability analyses of outside carriers, shippers and lanes, and also produces detailed reports on specific trips and drivers.

"TransCore's Keypoint for Carriers brings a high level of efficiency to customers' operations and is the next step in providing customers with end-to-end solutions that enable them to better manage their internal processes, track drivers and equipment, and negotiate capacity and demand electronically," said Marc Cameron, COO of TransCore's Commercial Services. "TransCore's Keypoint for Carriers enables customers to operate their businesses like the largest companies in the industry and easily take advantage of our 20,000-participant network of loads and trucks."
