Dr. Jeremy Landt
TransCore’s Chief Scientist and Amtech® Technology Founder

Dr. Landt is one of the world’s foremost authorities on wireless radio frequency identification (RFID) communications and one of the original scientists from Los Alamos National Laboratories that developed RFID technology for the federal government. His experience with RFID systems spans more than three decades. As TransCore’s chief scientist, Landt is responsible for guiding the technical development of RFID systems and investigating other technologies of interest to TransCore.

Landt has authored more than 60 technical papers and been awarded fourteen U.S. Patents. Landt worked for nine years at the Los Alamos National Laboratory in New Mexico and was one of the five co-founders of Amtech Corporation (now part of TransCore), serving as vice president of research and development from 1984 to 1996 and chief technical officer from 1996 to 2000. He served on the Amtech board of directors from May 1989 to August 1998.

In addition to technical prowess, Landt is known for his practical approach to real-world requirements, such as development of a literally ‘bullet-proof’ tag for hard rock mining, and his business acumen in the worldwide application of TransCore’s Amtech RFID systems.

Landt earned a Ph.D. in electrical engineering from Stanford University, a Master of Science degree and a Bachelor of Science degree in electrical engineering from the distinguished South Dakota School for Mines and Technology.
