Solutions for Chassis and Port Management

TransCore installed and supports a state-of-art RFID system at Matson’s Seattle, Oakland, Long Beach, and Honolulu terminals. To maximize the productivity gains associated with RFID, Matson has tagged all 24,000 containers, 14,000 chassis, 1,000 generator sets, and more than 1,500 tractors.

This system automates the data collection process at each terminals gate portal location. As trucks enter each Matson terminal, the RFID system accurately captures the Tractor ID, container, chassis, and generator set numbers and passes that information — hands free — to the terminal operating system. This expedited and automated data capture system results in an impressive turnaround time that averages less than 20 minutes at Matson terminals.

P&O Ports in New Orleans has installed a system of tagging incoming trucks to improve the process of authorizing access to their terminal facility.
