HOMELAND SECURITY
Trade Corridor

Accurate monitoring and reporting of freight movement

A group of federal, state, and private entities in Washington and British Columbia rely on TransCore’s ITS expertise to improve freight processing and movement through the ports of Seattle and Tacoma and the border crossing at Blaine, Washington. A secure system supports American and Canadian public- and private-sector freight regulatory agencies and stakeholders throughout the region. Using AVI sensors and transponders to detect and identify commercial vehicles and using electronic seals to detect and identify secure containers enables the uninterrupted flow of intermodal commercial traffic along the Northwest International Trade Corridor (I-5).  TransCore's SmartWatch® SecureFreight system allows agents to focus on unidentified, high-risk transactions. It also benefits commercial shippers by providing more efficient and accurate monitoring, data collection, and reporting of freight movements and processing.
