Key Installations

DID YOU KNOW?

TransCore systems allow agents to focus on unidentified, high-risk contacts.

Key Installations – continued

International Border and Cargo Pre-Clearance System (Washington)

TransCore is designing and installing a border crossing system that will facilitate the movement of commercial vehicles traveling from Puget Sound seaports (Seattle and Tacoma) to U.S. Customs facilities at Blaine, Washington. It will permit the U.S. Customs service to use electronic vehicle identification to preview manifest information for up to 1,000 truck-borne containers. To read these tags, an AVI system will be combined with a mainline weigh-in-motion system at the Washington State Patrol’s Bow Hill weigh station, and at the Ridgefield inspection station as well. Compliant trucks will be able to bypass the weigh stations, and the State Patrol will be able to electronically review safety and driver permit information, as well as enable the State Patrol to determine the contents of containers.

Pre-Authorized Automated Lane (PAL) at the San Clemente Border Patrol Checkpoint (California)

The PAL is designed to accommodate the San Clemente Border Patrol checkpoint on I-5 for travelers who frequently pass through this checkpoint. Registered vehicles are automatically processed through the checkpoint’s dedicated PAL. The system will enhance the enforcement capability of the checkpoint, reduce congestion at the other lanes, and is designed to process 1,500 vehicles per hour. The automation of the checkpoint will use proven Secure Electronic Network for Travelor Rapid Inspection (SENTRI) technologies that safely and effectively separate pre-authorized vehicles from the normal flow of traffic.

Dedicated Commuter Lane (DCL) & Port Security Egress System at the San Ysidro International Border Crossing (California)

At San Ysidro, two automated DCLs will be installed to enhance enforcement, reduce congestion, and accommodate frequent travelers enrolled in the SENTRI program. As part of this project, the first ever electronic security system to prevent port runners will be designed and installed by TransCore.
