TransCore’s 75 year heritage supporting the transportation industry spans back to the 1930s with the installation of the first key box on the Holland Tunnel and providing 2-way radio systems and services to the Pennsylvania Turnpike.

Our technology heritage began in the 1980s with the early development of RFID applications at Los Alamos National Labs to implementation of the first wireless toll collection system in the United States – 1989 Dallas North Tollway (North Texas Tollway Authority) to the first U.S. open-road tolling installation – 1991 Oklahoma Turnpike Authority.

As the world’s largest global manufacturer of transportation-based RFID technology with tags and readers deployed worldwide in various applications such as:  Electronic Toll Collection Systems, Advanced Traffic Management Systems, Rail Systems, Homeland Security Border Control, and Airport Ground Transportation Management Systems, Electronic Vehicle Registration Systems, and Parking Solutions.
