Parking and Security at Airports

TransCore's access control systems are perfect for providing preferred, VIP, and frequent flyer parkers fast access and exit at private and commercial garages. Patrons can pay their parking fees electronically via their access tags. This adds a level of convenience and security to their parking experience, and helps to establish brand loyalty for frequent parkers. Many of our airport clients also elect to use our AVI systems for employee parking and security access.
These systems can often be interfaced to the airport’s existing parking revenue control or security access control systems, for a simple, cost-effective and efficient system enhancement. TransCore has worked with leading manufacturers of these systems and has developed the necessary interfaces to make our AVI equipment, essentially, a “plug and play” enhancement.

Taxi Dispatch Operations
Taxi dispatch operations can be managed through the use of AVI systems, either as part of a larger GTMS deployment or as a stand-alone application. TransCore's AVI systems help streamline taxi dispatch, ease congestion in airports and help taxis move through the airport more quickly. Essentially, the system creates one or more queues to move cabs from holding areas to pick-up areas in the sequence established by the airport’s business rules. This system can be run in an automated mode that supplies a “target” number of cabs or it can be controlled by an operator who can handle special requests and unusual demand levels immediately. In addition, differentiation can be made between short trips and long trips, allowing the airport to implement special rules or fares based on trip duration. Several of the world’s busiest airport taxi operations, such as Las Vegas McCarran airport, use TransCore technology.
